WIC is the special supplemental nutrition program for Women, Infants and Children. It provides nutritious foods to women who are pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding and to infants and children who are under the age of five years.

The services of NJ WIC also include counseling and nutrition education, breastfeeding support and promotion, immunization screening and health care referrals. Enrollment is open to all eligible applicants. Participants can apply but must bring the ff: proof of identity, pregnancy, income, residency, Health Care Referral Form and child’s vaccination record.

How to apply for WIC New Jersey

  • Must be pregnant (up to six weeks after delivery)
  • Must be postpartum (up to six months after delivery)
  • Must be Breastfeeding (up to one year if you continue breastfeeding)
  • An infant
  • A child under five years old
  • Must be a resident of New Jersey
  • Must have a health risk
  • Must be income eligible under WIC guidelines
